For residents of 57 & 59 Cowley Road
We are looking into Right to Manage.
A group of leaseholders is finding out if we can manage our building ourselves. This page will have all the information. We will share more details soon.
We are collecting information first. When we have a plan, we will tell all residents.
What is Right to Manage?
Right to Manage (RTM) is a legal right for leaseholders of flats in England and Wales. It lets leaseholders take control of the management of their building from the freeholder.
Leaseholders do not have to show that the current management is bad. They do not have to buy the freehold.
-
01
Leaseholders form a company
Leaseholders set up an RTM company and become its members. At least half of the flats must join.
-
02
The company takes control
The RTM company manages repairs, cleaning, insurance and the service charge budget.
-
03
Residents decide
Residents choose the managing agent and decide how to spend the service charge money.
-
04
Ownership does not change
The freeholder still owns the building. Your lease stays the same.
